NATO pledges to support Ukraine as Russia tensions rise

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says the alliance is "determined" to support Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Tuesday that the alliance is "determined" to support Ukraine as tensions with Russia continue to escalate. Stoltenberg made the remarks at a press conference in Brussels, following a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.

"We stand in solidarity with Ukraine," Stoltenberg said. "We will continue to provide political and practical support to Ukraine, including through our presence in the country."

Stoltenberg's comments come as tensions between Russia and Ukraine have reached their highest point in years. Russia has amassed tens of thousands of troops on the border with Ukraine, and there are fears that Moscow is planning an invasion.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also expressed support for Ukraine

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also expressed support for Ukraine on Tuesday. Blinken said that the United States is "deeply concerned" about the situation in Ukraine and that it is "committed to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity."

Blinken said that the United States is working with its allies and partners to "deter further Russian aggression" and to "support Ukraine's ability to defend itself."

The United States has already provided Ukraine with military assistance, including Javelin anti-tank missiles and other weapons. The United States is also considering sending additional troops to Ukraine to help train and advise Ukrainian forces.

The support from NATO and the United States is a sign that the West is standing behind Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. However, it remains to be seen whether this support will be enough to deter Russia from invading Ukraine.

The situation in Ukraine is fluid and rapidly evolving. It is important to stay informed about the latest developments and to be aware of the potential risks.
